BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT   •   ACADEMY ORGANIZATION

My relationship with the Television Academy spans over 25 years. I began as a College Television Award recipient, then served for six years on the Foundation’s Educational Programs and Services Committee - an appointment I received even before I became an active member. As a former Filmmaker in Residence at Florida State University’s Film School, I initially joined the Academy as an Education member. After returning to on-camera work, I transitioned to active membership, later became an Emmy nominee, and am now serving my fourth term on the Performers Peer Group Executive Committee. My commitment to this community is longstanding and consistent.

I'm now stepping forward to serve in a greater capacity.

These are not typical times in our industry. While the Academy has always been a space for recognition, connection, and education, our responsibility to performers is expanding. Spotlights celebrate us. But support systems elevate us. And we have to turn up the dial, to equip performers with tools that help them stay in the game and position them for longevity. Advocacy, in this moment, must be strategic, specific, and consistent. That’s the type of leadership I’m offering.

My vision for that journey includes:
  • Launching Forward Forum, a virtual town hall that allows Peer Group leadership to hear directly from our community.
  • Establishing regional peer circles so performers outside L.A. stay connected and engaged, and can inform leadership about region-specific needs
  • Championing increased Short Form category submissions by pushing for transparency in how the vetting panel makes its decisions. Ensuring clarity and fairness for all entrants allows multi-hyphenate performers a legitimate opportunity to have their work considered.
  • Collaborating with a cross-section of peer group governors to address the specific obstacles faced by performers with disabilities, and how we move toward greater authentic representation and increased employment opportunities.
  • Creating more cross-peer collaborations, like the Directing Workshop, and expanding performer participation in those initiatives.
  • Building more networking opportunities that connect performers to producers, writers, and decision-makers. Not just in theory, but through intentional programming that leads to creative collaboration.

From traditional broadcast to voiceover, hosting to motion capture, our performances cover a wide spectrum. Each discipline has its own rhythm and challenges. And I’m committed to amplifying all of them with equal respect and attention.

Governors are not just representatives. They are bridges between the Peer Group and Academy leadership, between idea and implementation, and between milestones and momentum. With your trust, I will be that bridge.

I look forward to listening, building, and serving alongside you.

Each Academy Peer Group is represented by two, elected governors
who serve staggered, two-year terms.
